Pink Balloon, a New Jersey-based cannabis brand, and REDCOM Design & Construction recently broke ground on a new dispensary in Neptune. The project, which was celebrated at a groundbreaking event on Sept. 17, will involve the partial demolition of an existing structure to build a modern, two-story, 3,500-square-foot facility. The company aims to have the dispensary open by late 2025.
The event was attended by local dignitaries, including Neptune Township Mayor Robert Lane and New Jersey State Senator Vin Gopal. Pink Balloon’s co-founders, Teri Festa and Mike Aquino, were also in attendance to celebrate the start of the project.
According to Festa, Pink Balloon’s mission is to make cannabis approachable and welcoming for everyone. “Accessibility and community are at the heart of what we do,” she said.
Aquino added that the project is more than just a building. “It’s about investing in Neptune’s future, creating jobs, and building a space that will serve and uplift the community for years to come,” he stated.
Joe Lane, an account executive at REDCOM, expressed the company’s honor in being chosen for the project, noting their expertise in handling complex construction. The new facility will feature high-end finishes and a three-stop ADA lift.
The project team includes several partners, such as Brick City Reconstruction for architecture, KMB Design Group for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work, and Vanessa Deleon Design Group.
