It is with profound sadness that KMB Design Group shares the unexpected passing of its President and Co-Founder, Stephen J. Banks.
Stephen Banks co-founded KMB Design Group with a clear vision: to build an engineering firm grounded in technical excellence, integrity, and long-term client partnership. Through his leadership, KMB grew into a respected and trusted firm, known for its high standards, innovative thinking, and commitment to delivering results.
His fingerprints are on every part of KMB. He cared deeply about doing things the right way – for our clients, for our team, and for the company we built together.
Beyond his technical expertise, Steve was a mentor, a builder of teams, and a steady presence within the organization. His leadership philosophy – rooted in accountability, precision, and doing right by clients – remains embedded in the firm’s culture and operations.
The firm remains committed to honoring his legacy by upholding the standards he set and continuing the work he believed in.
The Stephen J. Banks Memorial Fund was established by his family and friends to honor Steve’s life and to continue the spirit of generosity that defined him. Donations will be directed toward a variety of charitable organizations and initiatives that reflect Steve’s values and the causes he cared about most, allowing his legacy of service and kindness to live on.
A proven Civil/Structural Engineer and Executive with experience in both the United Kingdom and the USA, Mr. Banks brought a wealth of diverse knowledge to the KMB team.
