How Solar Engineering Creates a Strategic Advantage with Eco-Friendly Power

A clean, sustainable source of energy is certainly a high priority for your business, your home, your children, and future generations. Reducing global warming has long been stressed as critical for the future of life on this planet as we know it.

Finding and developing alternative sources of eco-friendly power is a focus of environmental scientists and engineers throughout the world. Technology and creativity have opened doors to more environmentally-friendly green energy sources.

Green Power Alternatives

There are many alternatives to burning fossil fuels that generate harmful emissions and pollute the environment. Most have become increasingly cost-effective and efficient through a commitment to research and development.

Solar Power

Solar panels have increased in efficiency, while at the same time, have become more economically feasible. Today, massive clusters of solar panels are powering entire communities with zero-emission operations and a free source of renewable energy.

Efficient utilization of solar energy offers advantages to businesses of all sizes – not just global enterprises:

  • Becomes part of your strategic energy plan
  • Provides a steadily-shortening ROI
  • Demonstrates a commitment to your green initiatives and environmental concerns

Discussing the potential of solar energy solutions with a knowledgeable consultant can be an eye-opening step toward clean, sustainable power.

Low maintenance and operating costs are a major consideration for installing solar energy solutions for industrial applications particularly.

Wind Turbines

Clusters of wind-powered turbines are now dotting the landscape in many regions. These modern versions of windmills transform wind power into low-cost, storable energy from a reliable, sustainable, natural source.

Geothermal Energy

With advances in geothermal systems, more areas are now feasible for installation of such systems. This sustainable energy source utilizes temperatures lying only a few feet beneath the surface to both heat and cool homes and buildings. Some commercial or industrial applications go deeper underground to utilize more extreme heat to generate steam that powers electrical turbines.

The result is a clean, sustainable source of energy, that generates no pollutants or greenhouse gasses.

Hydro-electric power

By harnessing the power of moving water to turn electricity-generating turbines, this alternative power source produces a steady flow of power without a carbon footprint. The downside for many environmentalists is that this most often requires the building of dams to retain and control the flow of water, which in itself has an environmental impact during construction, and can create an impact for the environment downstream from dams.

Hydro-electric power is still commonly applied where sustainable water movement occurs naturally, such as in proximity to waterfalls or fast-moving currents.

Biomass Fuels

Use of organic materials to generate power continues to be explored and debated as a “green” power alternative. Although it does not incorporate fossil fuels, there are still emissions generated from the use of such resources.

Still, there is an attraction to generating power from normally wasted materials such as excess corn, or even residual organic materials such as corn stalks, which may otherwise be plowed under the surface or burned in the fields.
