We are currently seeking a highly motivated Solar Engineer / Project Manager for its Solar Division. This position is based out of our Wall, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to determine project requirements and schedules.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
- Participate and lead project designs.
- Interact with and manage external sub-consultants.
- Track project status, ensuring long and short-term goals are met, while maintaining established budgets.
- Interact with clients and contractors, with the ability to respond to project related needs and technical questions quickly and accurately.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
Ideal candidate shall have the ability to accurately and independently participate in all phases of design for photovoltaic projects, including but not limited to:
- Site investigations
- PV layouts
- PV Syst/Helioscope analysis
- Design drafting of electrical construction documents using AutoCAD
- Electrical distribution design and single line preparation
- Voltage calculations and conductor / raceway sizing
- Short Circuit calculations
- Medium voltage design and specifications
- Fault current and short circuit analysis utilizing ETAP is a plus, but not required.
- Utility coordination
- Code review
- Preparation of specifications
- Final site inspections and punchlists
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering experience in the solar engineering industry, as well as 7+ years’ experience as a project manager
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality construction documents working in a design role.
- Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of software
- Computer proficiency, strong in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as production related software (ETAP, PV Syst, Helioscope)
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
