We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer / Designer. This position is based out of our Wall, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Senior Engineer, actively participates in many phases of a project including, but not limited to: site investigations; CAD production; design and contract documents; basic specifications; and the construction administration process.
- Participates where requested in client interface and meetings.
- Interfaces with other disciplines within the Facilities & Energy / MEP team for coordination, including plumbing and HVAC
- Ability to work within established budgets
- Heavy production load
- Experience in the following design tasks:
- Design drafting of electrical construction documents using AutoCAD
- Lighting and power circuitry
- Voltage calculations and conductor / raceway sizing
- Short Circuit calculations, eTap experience a plus but not required
- Lighting layouts, fixture specifications, schedules and calculations; lighting control
- Electrical distribution design and single line preparation
- Utility coordination
- Code review
- Fire Alarm system design and layout
- Emergency and life safety systems
- Energy code analyses (ComCheck, Title 24)
- Photovoltaic System Design
Qualifications
- 2-5 years experience in electrical systems design for building renovations and new building construction
- Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of software
- Computer proficiency, strong in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
