We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to enhance our MEP Engineering division. Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design & production of Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing drawings for building renovations and new building construction.
Job Description:
- Perform initial site visits to accurately assess and document existing mechanical equipment & systems for renovation projects
- Ability to perform the following tasks independently:
- Design & drafting of HVAC construction documents using AutoCAD
- Sizing & selection of HVAC equipment
- Sizing & layout of ductwork & HVAC piping systems
- Computerized HVAC load calculations (ie: Carrier HAP)
- Design drafting of plumbing construction documents using AutoCAD
- Drafting of plumbing system riser diagrams
- Sizing of plumbing system piping to include sanitary, vent, storm, domestic cold and hot water.
- Equipment sizing and specification is a plus. E.g. water heaters, grease interceptors, hot water re-circulation pumps, etc.
- Code review
- Ability to work within established budgets
- Ability to interact and coordinate with external Clients & Architects
- Ability to interact and coordinate with internal team members
- Heavy design and production load, fast-paced but accurate
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design/production of Plumbing & HVAC systems design for building renovations and new building construction
- Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge of software
- Computer proficiency, strong in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
