New York Based Bank Headquarters Relocation Renovations Completed by KMB Design Group MEP Engineering Team


KMB Design Group is pleased to be a vital part of the professional team for the New York Community Bank Headquarters in Hicksville, New York.

KMB Design Group provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for this 5 story (plus basement), 160,000 square feet corporate project in Long Island, New York.  The scope included upgrades and rework of the core and shell of this abandoned office building plus complete interior fit out to serve as the new headquarters for this banking company.   The new location is intended to provide sufficient space for the present staff plus the anticipated growth of the company.

As part of this project, numerous energy improvements were designed, including but not limited to: the redesign of mechanical system including (4) 80 ton air cooled chillers, (3) 160 ton water cooled chillers, and (5) 90 ton cooling towers; Upgrades to the existing Building Management System; new 2×2 LED recessed lighting throughout replacing T8 fluorescent’s; new- high efficiency hot water distribution system;  and new lighting control system with occupancy sensors throughout.

This project is currently out of the design phase and construction is estimated to be complete by the end of Summer 2014.
